The first of these services will enable dealers to post and fill jobs for the dealership. The second will allow all dealers to buy or sell our used inventory on the wholesale market with fellow NJ CAR dealers. A third pro- gram will speed up and simplify the process to verify a customer’s insurance coverage. All three programs have been developed by NJ CAR in partnership with best-in-class service providers looking tomake web-based technologywork for all New Jersey auto retailers. In the last issue of New Jersey Auto Retailer , I spoke about NJ CAR’s efforts to promote careers in the automotive retail industry and dispel some of themyths job-seekersmayhave aboutworking inadealership. In this issue, I’d like to briefly discussNJCAR’s partnershipwithThe Employment Network to create a truly unique way for us to recruit and retain a talented staff in the most cost efficient way possible. The program is user-friendly, allows the dealership incredible flex- ibility and drastically reduces our cost-per-hire. Unlike other em- ployment websites, dealers list their job openings for free and only pay for qualified candidates that specifically match their own chosen job requirements. We even have the ability to control our hiring bud- get by setting a maximum number of qualified candidates we want to review. Please contact NJ CAR’s Mark McAleer at mmcaleer@njcar. org or Maryellen Adams, of the Employment Network, at madams@employmentnetwork.net for more information about the programand look for additional communicationswhen the program officially launches. The second online program I’d like to discuss is an incredible addition to the slate of NJ CAR co- branded products and services. TheCoalition has partnered with DealerTrack and will soon offer members access to a closed, wholesale auction site that we can use to buy and sell used vehicles among NJ CAR dealers. There is no subscription or start-up costs. Dealers will simply upload their used inventory and will be charged only for completed transactions. If a vehicle doesn’t sell within a desired time-frame, the seller can open the vehicle up to a national audience and can benefit from the use of a sophisticated algorithm that helps match the vehicle with a buyer. More information about this valuable programwill be distributed to members as the launch date approaches. Finally, I’d like to tell you about another online program that will streamline what can often be a very time-consuming and frustrating process. Before we deliver a vehicle, we must verify our customer’s insurance coverage. Currently, we ask the customer to provide proof or we call their insurance company for verification. When the deliv- ery of a vehicle is after normal business hours, we are often forced to purchase expensive spot insurance to cover any potential losses until verification of the customer’s insurance coverage is complete. NJ CAR Services, Inc. has joined with insurance industry partners to formAutoDealer Verification Insurance Systems, LLC (ADVIS). This company will provide members access to a searchable online database (by customer name), which will enable dealers to quickly confirm insurance coverage. Chairman’s Message  continued on page 9
