The Affordable Care Act (ACA) has been a driving force since its inception in 2010, with changes still taking place on what seems to be a weekly basis. Health and Wellness programs also saw an expansion in 2016. In a recent survey by HUB International, 65% of midsized companies with 50-1000 employees are using wellness programs to help mitigate claims costs, and keep employees healthy and productive. Early detection equals lower claims, andmany employers are seeing real results in terms of reduced renewal premiums from the proper execution of a wellness program. Surprisingly, slower than expected growth in theuseof technologyaroundemployee benefits programs was seen in 2016.
