NJ CAR Recognizes Dealership Heroes on Social Media

New Jersey Auto Dealers care about their communities. From providing food and essential goods and services to raising money to fight childhood cancer, they do it all. Giving back is a way of life for them and New Jersey is better because of it.

NJ CAR recognized Burke Motor Group and its Burke Promise program, which donated nearly $24,000 to four local charitable organizations at a holiday reception.

Congratulations to Cherry Hill Volvo Cars for becoming the first New Jersey dealership to become a Gold Level PlugStar electric vehicle certified dealership!

NJ CAR recognizes Mall Chevrolet and its continued sponsorship of Ron Jaworski’s Jaws Bike Drive. Mall Chevrolet donated $15,000 of new bicycles and helmets to deserving children in Camden. The giving spirit was felt throughout the dealership, with everyone playing a part, including service technicians assembling the bikes and other staff filling roles at the event.

Douglas Auto Group recently made a donation to The Seeing Eye, a group that helps individuals who are blind with trained seeing eye dogs and was visited by one of the puppies in training.

NJ CAR recognizes Davis Honda and their Platinum Sponsorship of the Spellbound Century Bike Ride, with proceeds going to the Friends of Burlington County Animal Shelter, the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, and the St. Vincent de Paul Sacred Heart Conference Inc.

The EV Ride & Drive event, held in Bell Works, Holmdel, NJ was a huge success! Some interesting statistics that were indicated by this event include:

  • Approximately 67% of people who test-drove vehicles at the event had never driven an EV before.
  • Prior to this test drive, approximately 74% of attendees were likely to purchase an EV.
  • Because of the test drive, approximately 91% of participants were interested in purchasing an EV.

NJ CAR recognizes McGuire Chevrolet Cadillac for its extensive financial and logistical support of the Sussex County Community College automotive technician program. When the dealership moved from its previous location, they worked with the college to provide much-needed space for their auto tech program.

Shout out to the Lester Glenn Auto Group for recently sponsoring the 9th Annual Golf Fundraiser Tournament! The tournament was held for Lauren Shevchek, and also benefitted the Mid-Atlantic Catastrophic Injury Fund through the Help Hope Live organization, assisting numerous individuals in the Mid-Atlantic region who have endured catastrophic injuries.

NJ CAR recognizes RK Chevrolet (and Team Sandy) for the incredible work they’ve done for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer organization over the past 12 years. The group has raised an incredible $566,000 since 2012.

NJ CAR would like to give a big shout-out to Dayton Toyota for donating four of their engines to local vo-tech magnet schools in Middlesex County! These engines were donated to East Brunswick Magnet School, Piscataway Magnet School, and Perth Amboy High School. The students at these schools will practice working on these engines to become future skilled automotive technicians. Thank you, Dayton Toyota, for supporting the local magnet schools of Middlesex County!

Liberty Subaru, as part of the Subaru Loves To Help event in February, recently donated socks and blankets to the Bergen County Human Services Center to help individuals experiencing homelessness. Nationally, Subaru dealers donated 500,000+ pairs of socks and 100,000+ blankets.

NJ CAR recognizes Royal Buick GMC and its recent canopy donation to the Sparta Unified Sports Track Team, which joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. In partnership with Special Olympics, Unified Teams shows that training and competing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding.

NJ CAR wants to recognize the Fred Beans dealerships for raising nearly $22,000 during Breast Cancer Awareness month to donate to the Unite For HER organization

NJ CAR recognizes Scott Honda of Vineland and its partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence to provide meals to those in need.

Liberty Subaru recently presented checks to two deserving local charities as part of the Subaru Share The Love program. The Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon works to lift the morale and support active members of the U.S. military by consistently sending care packages to personnel currently serving around the world. The New York/New Jersey Trail Conference works to build and maintain a comprehensive trail network, publish accurate trail maps and guides and support conservation throughout the region.

Who doesn’t love cars and dogs? Burke Motor Group recently held a 3 Dog Night event benefiting the Humane Society of Ocean City.

NJ CAR recognizes Franklin Sussex Auto Mall and the 12 Days of Christmas campaign it runs with iHeartRadio in Sussex County. Twelve winners were chosen, and each family was awarded a $500 gift card in the name of the person who nominated them.

Lester Glenn Subaru partnered with AdoptAClassroom.org to support the Oak Street Elementary School during their back-to-school event in September 2023, surprising attendees with a $13,000 donation and dozens of school supply kits. This contribution is part of the Subaru Loves Learning initiative, which aims to help teachers purchase supplies and resources for their students. Each teacher at Oak Street School received $500 to buy supplies for the school year.

NJ CAR recognizes Pine Belt Subaru, who recently raised nearly $18,500 in support of Monmouth Medical Center through the Subaru Share The Love event. Just like all of New Jersey’s 500+ neighborhood new car and truck dealerships, Pine Belt Cars is committed to supporting the communities they work in.

NJ CAR recognizes Davis Honda for donating much-needed items to The Community Food Bank of New Jersey for the last five years.

NJ CAR recognizes Lester Glenn Auto Group’s recent sponsorship of the Ocean of Love Inc. Bowl-A-Thon at Finnigan’s Bar and Bowl in Lakewood. Lester Glenn donated $7,000 to the charity, which provides food assistance, bill assistance and more for the families of children with cancer. Multiple Lester Glenn locations had teams participating in the Bowl-A-Thon.

Congratulations to the Barlow Chevrolet team for taking the time to make more than 100 sandwiches for a local organization that provides meals to Camden residents experiencing food insecurity. Barlow Chevrolet and New Jersey’s 500+ neighborhood new car and truck dealers are committed to positively impacting the hundreds of communities where they’re located.

Liberty Subaru recently donated 80 patient blankets and 50 patient care kits to the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center.

NJ CAR recognizes Holman Ford Lincoln Turnersville and its relationship with the American Red Cross New Jersey Region — hosting several successful blood drive events and events to build care packages for disaster relief in the dealership showroom.

NJ CAR wants to recognize General Manager Donald Chittum, Sales Manager Tina Valenti, and the rest of the team at Jack Daniels Volkswagen for lending a new Volkswagen Taos to Nick Boragine, Silvanna Boragine, and their two children. After recently losing all of their possessions in a devastating fire that destroyed their Saddlebrook home, Jack Daniels Volkswagen donated one of their vehicles for the family to use as a means of transportation in their time of need. NJ CAR wants to acknowledge that other neighborhood new car dealers across the State regularly step up to support their communities in hundreds of ways, both big and small.
